Two people are dead and three more are in the hospital after their rented boat capsized on the Hudson River in New York Thursday.

About 13 people were on board when the boat capsized, according to CBS News, and some of them were trapped beneath the boat when it turned over. New York first responders got the call around 2:46 p.m. and other boats and ferries made their way to the scene to help.

Names of the victims have not been released, but they are, according to reports, a 7-year-old boy and a 50-year-old woman.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard, who also responded to the scene, a small watercraft advisory was in effect at the time of the capsizing — meaning waves on the river were rougher for small vessels.
