Detroit Lakes native opens new chiropractic clinic in hometown – Detroit Lakes Tribune

DETROIT LAKES — A new chiropractic clinic is open in Detroit Lakes.

Kunz Chiropractic is now accepting new patients, and walk-ins, at its clinic in the Lake Avenue Plaza at 725 Lake Avenue. Stephen Kunz, owner/practitioner and Detroit Lakes native, said his clinic will offer adjustments, a little physical therapy and massage.

“I try to treat the whole body, not just crack a bone and be done,” said Kunz.

Kunz attended Holy Rosary School in Detroit Lakes before moving to Pelican Rapids. He graduated from Pelican Rapids High School, attended Minnesota State University Moorhead and then continued on to receive his doctorate from the Palmer College of Chiropractics in Iowa.

“I had struggled through getting hurt in sports,” he said, adding that it was the chiropractor he visited when he was younger that inspired him to become one himself.

He also said no one should have to live in chronic pain and, if he can improve patients’ quality of life by even 10%, it can make a big difference.

Before deciding to open his own clinic in Detroit Lakes, Kuntz offered chiropractic services in Pelican Rapids and Crookston.

He has been trained in multiple adjustment and massage techniques and has the ability to tailor each patient’s treatment to their individual tastes.

The new clinic does not accept insurance. Kunz said a patient’s first visit costs $85 for consultation and adjustment, with $50 recurring appointments after that.
