“My name is Joan Wilson, a 71-year-old who has been treated by Kimberton Chiropractic for over a year for Osteoarthritis, a bulging disc issue, failed knee replacement (4 years ago) and a severed tendon in the rotator cuff of my dominant side shoulder.
Kimberton Chiropractic’s beautiful building contains a dedicated staff that always greets you with a smile, go out of their way to accommodate your needs and are happy to reschedule appointments. Patients have access to state-of-the-art equipment such as cold-light laser, knee decompression and a chiropractor who doesn’t just crack a couple things and rush you out the door. Dr. Jim evaluates you as a whole person, with hands-on adjustments of not only the issues that brought you there, but for me he found and treated some that I didn’t know needed tweaking! Today I am not magically cured of all my maladies as a result of Dr Jim’s adjustments/treatments (including an innovative knee program that did more for me than two six-month stints of physical therapy), but I AM much more highly functioning than I thought possible when I walked through his door. I wanted to share my journey with you because I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed and hopeless. Don’t live each day with chronic pain and limited mobility like I did, there is help and hope at Kimberton Chiropractic.”
Although there has been an increase in preventive care and people seeing alternative practitioners such as Chiropractors and Functional Medicine Doctors, Neurological Diseases continue to be the largest cause of disability worldwide, according to the Global Burden of Disease Study, 2015. That is why doctors, like Dr. Schaffer are taking the initiative to learn more about Functional Neurology and offer integrative healthcare solutions in their practices.
Dr. Schaffer provides a unique and innovative approach for patients who have seen several doctors, and have gotten little to no results. Each patient receives a custom treatment plan that is a reflection of their Neurological Exam:
- A thorough Neurological Exam helps you and your doctor to identify irregularities or imbalances that are causing discomfort and pain in your body.
- The patient takes an active role in the exam as the doctor asks questions, listens actively and runs tests to assess neurological and brain functionality which influence the length of their program.
- Each patient is given a Trusted Advisor Booklet prior to leaving the office that helps to educate them on simple and effective changes they can start making immediately to improve quality of life.
By establishing a synergistic relationship from the beginning, patients are empowered to take responsibility for their own health.
Dr. Schaffer has been practicing for over 26 years and continues to focus on his family and advancing his education with the latest research and techniques to optimize his patient’s recovery to greater health and longevity.
“My name is Dorie Natalie. I discovered I had neuropathy in my left ankle, I was concerned about it and new Dr. Jim might have an answer for me. It had been affecting me for four months and I was concerned that it was getting worse. In my family I’ve seen neuropathy become a big problem and I didn’t want to have to go there. Since I started with Dr. Jim, the area that I discovered neuropathy is now feeling normal and I was not aware of how much my feet were involved until I started the treatment, and I can now feel everything with my feet that I wasn’t even aware of how much feeling I was missing. If someone has neuropathy and you’re considering the neuropathy program, I say do it because I have seen several people in my family get really bad neuropathy and it’s not a pleasant thing. I did not want to wind-up in a wheelchair. I’d like to add that Dr Jim is a gem.”
